Orangutans are fruit-eaters that hang around in tropical rainforests. The males are the largest tree-dwelling animals on Earth. The Sumatran orangutan, one of three orang species, used to be distributed across Sumatra and in northern Java. Now, it is classed as critically endangered because of its restricted range in northern Sumatra.

The Sumatran orangutan is facing several big threats. Their habitat is being lost rapidly thanks to the conversion of forests to agriculture - including dreaded palm oil plantations. There are also lots of forest fires in Sumatra (often deliberately started to clear land), and orangutans are still being illegally taken from the wild to be kept in households as status symbols.

Conservation organisations are fighting for the protection of these unique apes. They are working hard to slow down further deforestation and conserve swathes of important orangutan habitat. One of the best small changes you can make is to try and reduce your palm oil consumption (or look out for the sustainable palm oil badge on packaging).

We are very environmentally conscious and aim to keep the carbon footprint of the business to an absolute minimum. All Wild Lines greetings cards and stationery products are as sustainable as possible. The cards, notebooks and advent colouring books are made of recycled paper.

Because of the quality necessary for art prints, they are not printed on recycled paper. The paper is, however, FSC certified as sustainably sourced. We hope the art prints will have long lives in their new homes before, one day (in the faraway future!), being recycled.

The art prints are packaged with recycled backboards in compostable sleeves. We post all products in hard-backed envelopes. From the tape to stuffing, all of the packaging is also fully recyclable (and recycled where possible).

The price includes eco-friendly packaging and free Second Class postage to UK addresses. There is an option to pay a little extra and upgrade to First Class postage at check out if you need your products sooner.

All orders will be shipped within three working days.

International orders will be posted with Royal Mail International Standard Delivery and the delivery cost will be calculated at check-out. Unfortunately there is no tracking option with this service.

Please note that if you live outside the UK, you might be required to pay taxes when the parcel arrives; these taxes are not included in the price.
