African painted dog
A high quality, signed A4 print of my African painted dog pen drawing, ready to be framed and hung in the perfect spot in your home.
For every Endangered print sold, a tree will be planted in the Albertine Rift forests of Uganda as part of a wildlife habitat restoration project in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute.
African painted dogs, also known as wild dogs and hunting dogs, are social animals that live in large packs. Each pack has one dominant, monogamous pair and the whole group (of up to 40 dogs!) is like one big family, working together to hunt their prey and sharing the care of pups and sick or wounded members.
To conserve this unique species, which now comprises fewer than 7,000 wild individuals, wildlife organisations are developing protected areas and wildlife corridors between large game reserves. Reducing conflict with humans is another important step; outreach programmes are underway and charities are helping farmers to build painted-dog-proof enclosures for their livestock. The African Wildlife Foundation even employs local people to monitor wild dogs and alert farmers if the dogs pose a threat to their herds!
This listing is for the print only; it does not include a mount or frame.
Your print will be protected by a sheet of greyboard and packaged in compostable film.
